Lumos does not discourage explicit or graphic Fiction. We do, however, require that you use the appropriate warnings at all times.

• Substance Abuse: Recreational Drug Use, Muggle or Magical, and Alcohol AbuseViolence: Weapons use, Violent Spells and Excessive Physical Violence
  
• Dubious Consent: Sex scenes where one or both partners have not given their express consent or may be under the influence.
  
• Suicide: Any story where a character dies by their own hand MUST contain this warning.
  
• Sexual Situations: Any stories with allusions to sexual activity MUST contain this warning.
  
• Mental Disorders: Whether inflicted by a Death Eater's curse or by nature, stories with extreme Mental Disorders MUST contain this warning.
  
• Slash: Same-sex pairings.
  
• Self-injury: Scenes where a character does bodily damage to themselves, whether by mental illness or as part of a ritual act
  
• Non-consensual Sex: Any stories with Rape MUST have this warning. Most Rapefics will be rejected.
  
• Abuse: Physical and/or Emotional Abuse
  
• Alternate Universe: Stories set in a non-canon based universe; ie: the characters exist in a world, time period, or society that is not completely accurate to the books. Not all AU fics belong in the category – just stories in which the AU-factor is the premise of or is completely central to the story.
  

Start with a disclaimer. It should go something like this:
"This story is based on characters and situations created and owned by JK Rowling, various publishers including but not limited to Bloomsbury Books, Scholastic Books and Raincoat Books, and Warner Bros., Inc. No money is being made and no copyright or trademark infringement is intended. "
If you're submitting a song-fic make sure you include the band and lyrics.
